MONTREAL — Canadian fashion brand Frank And Oak has introduced the French Terry Overshirt for women as part of its clothing line for the current spring season.

The fashion retailer invites interested customers to view the beige version of the French Terry Overshirt at its website.

The French Terry Overshirt for women from Frank And Oak is available in beige, purple, and mocha.

Frank And Oak says the overshirt is made from sustainable and recycled materials, comprising a material that is a mix of 80 per cent organic cotton and 20 per cent recycled polyester.

An unnamed spokesperson for Frank And Oak explained the company’s decision behind choosing eco-friendly materials, stating that the brand is supposed to be about sustainability.

The company tries to ensure its manufacturing processes reflect its values of reusing, reducing and recycling materials. Additionally, Frank and Oak says the cotton used to create its new French Terry Overshirt for women is grown responsibly and harvested using sustainable methods.

The polyester fabric used for the overshirts is composed of yarns made from discarded plastic, mainly plastic bottles. The hard plastic from the bottles is shredded down into miniature chips which are then spun into new polyester yarn and woven into fabric.
