Fiber artists Roberta Valdez, Ann Scobie, Elizabeth Schilling and Susan Penney “yarn bomb” the front of Pajaro Valley Arts’ gallery, 37 Sudden St., in Watsonville on Thursday. The colorful installation, wrapping the front of the gallery with yarn, is a collaboration between PVA, Knitting Guild of Santa Cruz County and Santa Cruz Textile Arts. It was done in conjunction with the gallery’s current exhibition Many Threads One Cloth Guild, which runs through Oct. 2. The PVA website describes the current exhibit as having a unifying theme, “Threads, made from a variety of plant or animal fibers, are universal. Cloth, made from various fibers utilizing unique methods, is universal. Every culture in the world makes, wears, and uses textiles from birth through death.” PVA hosts an Opening Reception for the exhibit this Sunday.
